Laser hair removal uses pulses of light absorbed by the pigment (melanin) in the hair follicle. That energy converts to heat, which damages the follicle's ability to grow new hair while leaving surrounding skin unharmed. The EVO Series platform we use is one of the few lasers safe and effective on all six Fitzpatrick skin types, including very dark skin. Results are strongest on medium brown, brown, and black hair, where there is enough melanin for the laser to target reliably.
Hair grows in three stages, and laser energy only affects follicles in the active growth phase. That's why a full course of 6 to 8 sessions, spaced 4 to 8 weeks apart depending on the body area, is recommended to catch every follicle. After a complete series, most clients enjoy permanent reduction with only occasional touch-ups, often as part of one of our Laser Hair Removal Memberships.
