Polydioxanone (PDO) is a synthetic absorbable surgical suture that has been used safely in cardiothoracic and general surgery for decades. In aesthetics, PDO threads are placed under the skin to lift sagging tissue, smooth lines, and stimulate new collagen as the threads dissolve over the following 6 to 12 months.

We use two main thread categories. Mono and smooth threads are tiny collagen-building filaments placed in grids to thicken and tighten skin (think necks, jowls, marionette lines, lips, and even the décolleté). Lifting threads have small barbs or cones that physically reposition tissue, ideal for non-surgical brow, mid-face, jaw, and neck lifts. Most appointments take 30 to 60 minutes and produce a visible result the day you leave.
